Recently we finished a couple of interesting tests for capturing extreme facial expressions in 4D.
We used 18x IOI Volucam color cameras 12 Mp each with our custom strobe light system. The sequences were captured at 60 FPS and converted into a series of scans. We used Wrap4D to bring the sequences into a consistent topology.
This sequence shows expressions and secondary motions that are extremely hard to recreate using a traditional blendshape rig.
In this second test we captures a series of FACS expressions.
